Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 10, 2026 · Last Updated: June 17, 2026

The Family Keep is built on a foundation of trust. You are sharing your family's most intimate details — your children's names, your schedule, your memories, your values. We take that responsibility seriously and will always be transparent about how we handle your information.

1. Who We Are

The Family Keep ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Kristen McCall, based in Franklin, Tennessee, USA. We provide an AI-powered family life design platform accessible at familykeep.app and related applications ("the Service").

3. Special Notice: Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The Family Keep is designed for parents and family account holders. Our Service involves the storage of information about children, including children under 13. We take our obligations under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) seriously.

How We Handle Children's Information

  • The Family Keep accounts are created and managed by parents or legal guardians (users must be 18 or older to create an account)
  • Children do not create accounts, do not have login credentials, and do not provide any personal information directly to the Service
  • Children may access a limited, age-appropriate view within their parent's authenticated account (selected by profile, similar to a child profile on a streaming service); all information about children is entered, managed, and controlled by the parent or guardian account holder
  • Information about children (names, ages, grades, activities) is entered by the parent/guardian account holder
  • We collect only the information parents provide about their children that is necessary to provide the Service
  • We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts or directly submit personal information
  • We do not use children's information for advertising or marketing purposes
  • We do not share children's information with third parties except as described in Section 5

Parental Rights Regarding Children's Information

As the account holder and parent/guardian, you have the right to:

  • Review the personal information we have collected about your children
  • Request deletion of your children's personal information
  • Refuse further collection or use of your children's information
  • Update or correct information about your children

To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Power Butler AI features, including the Morning Sentinel briefing, Gatehouse email processing, and personalized family insights
  • Sync with Google Calendar when you enable this feature
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send you service-related communications (account updates, billing, product changes)
  • Send you marketing communications if you have opted in (you may opt out at any time)

  • Protect the safety and security of our users and the Service

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your family's private data to train AI models. We do not use children's information for advertising.

5. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

  • Anthropic: When you provide your Anthropic API key, your prompts and family context are processed by Anthropic to power Butler AI features. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their use of this data. Your API key is stored securely and used solely to power your Butler.
  • Google: When you connect Google Calendar, calendar data is synced via Google's APIs. Google's privacy policy governs their handling of this data.
  • Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
  • HighLevel / Funnel Gorgeous: Our CRM and funnel platform for managing customer accounts and communications.
  • Analytics providers: We use Google Analytics and may use other analytics tools to understand how users interact with our Service. These tools collect anonymized usage data.

Caregivers You Designate

At your direction, you may share selected family information (such as schedules, routines, and emergency contacts) with babysitters or caregivers via secure, expiring, revocable links. You control exactly which information each link includes and may revoke access at any time. Recipients of these links do not receive accounts or any access beyond what you select.

Advertising

We use advertising pixels including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on our marketing pages to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. These pixels may collect information about your visits to our marketing website. This data is used for ad targeting and measurement. We do not use advertising tracking within the authenticated app experience — advertising pixels are limited to our public-facing marketing pages only.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Family Keep, our users, or others.

Business Transfers

If The Family Keep is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service prior to your information being transferred and becoming subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Google Calendar Integration

When you connect your Google account to The Family Keep:

  • We request access to view and add or edit events on your Google Calendar — not the ability to delete or manage entire calendars
  • We use this access solely to display your calendar within the app and to add events Butler identifies from your Gatehouse inbox
  • We do not access, store, or share your Google data beyond what is necessary to provide the calendar sync feature
  • You may disconnect your Google account at any time in Settings, which will immediately revoke our access
  • Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our marketing website (not within the authenticated app) for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies: Required for the Service to function (authentication, session management)
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics and similar tools to understand usage patterns
  • Advertising cookies: Meta Pixel and similar tools on marketing pages to measure advertising effectiveness

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our Service.

  • Encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS)
  • Secure storage of API keys and sensitive credentials
  • Access controls limiting who can access your data
  • Regular security reviews

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].

9. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. If you close your account:

  • We will delete your personal information within 30 days of account closure
  • We may retain anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you
  • We may retain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing agreements)

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
